MISSIONS
Otterbein United Methodist Church is committed to outreach both in our local community and beyond. Our local church Mission Statement is:
We put God first, others second and ourselves last. We are sharing Christ's love in a changing world.
We support local and national missions.
On August 3 we picked 482 dozen ears of corn for the local food banks from the church field. Then opened up the patch to the neighborhood.
Among our many missions are:
30 Hour Famine (World Vision)
Benevolent Homes
Blanket Sunday
Harvest Home - collect canned goods and non perishables for local food banks
Mission Central - both monetary and volunteering
Missionary Elizabeth Nichols in Rocky Mounts, Virginia
Mission Trips - Members of the congregation have been to Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland and to Bolivia, South America and the Bahamas.
Neighborhood Center - collected coats
Newburg Hopewell Fire Department
Once More Ministries - collect items
One Great Hour of Sharing
Prayer Shawl Ministry - Prayer shawls are given to members/friends of the church to provide a constant reminder of the care and concern of the congregation.
