 MISSIONS


Otterbein United Methodist Church is committed to outreach both in our local community and beyond. Our local church Mission Statement is:

We put God first, others second and ourselves last.  We are sharing Christ's love in a changing world.

We support local and national missions. 

On August 3 we picked 482 dozen ears of corn for the local food banks from the church field.  Then opened up the patch to the neighborhood.

Among our many missions are:

30 Hour Famine (World Vision)

Benevolent Homes

Blanket Sunday

Harvest Home - collect canned goods and non perishables for local food banks

Mission Central - both monetary and volunteering

Missionary Elizabeth Nichols in Rocky Mounts, Virginia

Mission Trips - Members of the congregation have been to Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland and to Bolivia, South America and the Bahamas.

Newburg Hopewell Fire Department

Once More Ministries - collect items

One Great Hour of Sharing

Prayer Shawl Ministry - Prayer shawls are given to members/friends of the church to provide a constant reminder of the care and concern of the congregation. 

Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child

Welcome Pastor Tina Moyer

Join us in welcoming our new pastor, Tina Moyer.  Her appointment at Otterbein United Methodist Church began July 1, 2023. Pastor Tina Moyer Tina Moyer is a Licensed Pastor with the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church. Pastor Tina is a graduate of United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. She grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia, but has been happy to call south central PA home for more than 20 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and spent 13 years working as a hospital laboratory technician. When her two boys were small, she left that career to become a full-time home-schooling parent. Now that her boys are grown, she is happy to be serving in full-time ministry. Pastor Tina previously served at Wesley United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. She likes to say that religion is not about rules, it’s about relationships. We are located at 15634 Paxton Run Road, Newburg PA 17240 (just off of Route 641) The main entrance to the church is at the double glass doors at the drive thru canopy. This entrance is handicap accessible. Hymn sing hosted by WPFG 91.3 FM

We had a great time at our first hymn sing hosted by WPFG 91.3 FM on Sunday, Febrary 19, 2023 at 2:30 PM.  The theme was  💗  God’s Love  💗  Thank you to all who joined us both in person and online! We had 58 in attendance in person We enjoyed great music, fellowship and light refreshments. Be sure to check out the live feed video on FaceBook or YouTube .
